BIOGRAPHY

Valentin is a young film composer in his third year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He writes emotional, character-driven orchestral scores while exploring modern electronic textures. His recent work includes mentoring sessions with Academy Award–winning composer Rachel Portman followed by a recording with the London Symphony Orchestra; two tracks for Grammy Award–winning singer-songwriter Corrine Bailey Rae’s Roundhouse concert; a commission for the National Gallery; an arrangement of Grammy Award–winning artist Adekundle Gold’s 5 STAR for a special performance at the Royal Festival Hall; and a live orchestral rendition of Queen’s We Are the Champions for the 50 Years of Bohemian Rhapsody concert at the Barbican. Valentin was born near Paris and grew up in the Netherlands. Coming from a strong STEM background, he has always paired musical creativity with technical curiosity—a combination he continues to develop through projects such as designing and building his own MIDI controller.
